Black is the New Black

Black office design

Black is the New Black

Deciding on colours and finishes for an office fit-out is one of my favourite parts of the job. Delivering a concept that pulls together all the elements of the design is extremely satisfying. I am loving the black trend that we’re starting to see in commercial design. Black is a great accent colour, it provides depth and helps to offset any other colours within the space. It’s also incredibly versatile in how it can be used.

A high gloss black nickel boardroom table can present a corporate and sophisticated look, while a matte-finished black detail can give a rustic timber table an industrial feel. Juxtaposing different elements, textures, and finishes can create a monochromatic design that is complex and multifaceted.

This trend can be seen in a variety of different products, from monitor arms through to desk systems and break out furniture. Elements from different pieces can be powder coated with either a matte or a gloss finish, helping to tie into the concept design.

With clean lines and elegant leg design, Levira ON (pictured above) comes in a black finish and works well in a number of different spaces. It’s simple design lends itself to use with black Systema Monitor Arms or C.ME Monitor Arms to create a beautiful black on black environment. The system is also very functional, allowing for easily reconfigurable designs.

The possibilities for using black in a design are endless, either as a main feature colour or as a neutral base colour from which you can add other colour elements. Visit our showroom and chat with our design team about how we can incorporated black into your design scheme.
